Christmas Morning!!!! Oh My!!

The hustle and bustle of getting ready for Christmas, and then it is here and over!! what a day (and night) Santa arrived and within minutes Hunter and Madison dashed to see the stash that was left!! Enjoy the moments we enjoyed!

This year I heard Santa come and leave the loot, so I decided to get some pictures before the kids got up so we could remember what it looked like when they first walked in the room.

This didn't last long because at almost 6am on the dot they were pulling us out of bed to see what Santa had brought. (they started asking if they could open them at about 4:30am)
With in minutes the quiet from the we early hours of the morning was disturbed and quickly turned into chaos.

Then in a dash we were off to Grandma Richardsons for more Christmas fun!

Almost as fast as it started it ended with a crash shhhh!

Merry Christmas All!!!!

SNOW!!

I look out the window and what do I see SNOW!! As many of you might know I am not a cold climate person, it is very strange that I would choose to live in Utah, where this morning it hit about 19%. (YUCK!!) and with the economy the way it is I doubt we can afford to go to the Caribbean this year. So I decided to take us there in my blog, because my Caribbean relatives shouldn't be the only ones that get to enjoy the beach. (You know who you are!!)

Go to the bottom of my blog to see our Family ready for the beach!!

Blackberry Messaging

The other day, one of the guys that over sees a study that I do at work noticed I had a blackberry, he asked if I tried the blackberry messaging program, I said no and he proceeded to tell me about it. You can message with out using text to anyone who has it on there blackberry, he added me to his contact and I added him to mine. He explained that it would save time to just send him a message that way rather than send and email he would be able to get back to me faster. Well after messing around with it I really liked it.
Then last night I showed Jeff how he could download it on his and then we could IM each other using that. Well it didn't go as smooth as my previous experience it but this morning it finely looked like he might be able to get my messages, so I sent him a message. I said
"Hey Lover have you got it up yet" I was referring to getting the messaging up yet then I pushed send. At that very moment I noticed that the name that flashed across the screen wasn't my lover husband but the man that oversees my study. I instantly went it to panic with the realization that with the convince of blackberry IM'ing he would receive that message in about 1/2 second, so about the same moment as I realized my error. Needless to say I frantically sent him another IM explaining that the previous one was intended for my husband. He sent back one with a smiley face and a that's ok. I believe that is the most embarrassed I have been in a very long time, I guess I learned how wonderful the modern communication tool is!!!

Better than store bought!!

So while I have been off with my surgery I have been playing molly homemaker I have even learned to make fairly healthy homemade granola bars. Everyone that has tried them wants the recipe so here it is. hope you like them to, I do lots of variations with chocolate chips and stuff.

Chewy Granola Bars
4 1/2 cups rolled oats (31/2 cups rolled oats & 1 cup of rice crispies)
1 cup all-purpose flour ( I will use a 1/4 cup of protein and 3/4 cup of flour if I have it)
1 teaspoon baking soda (I haven't added)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup honey (a little more than 2/3 a cup)
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 cups miniature semisweet chocolate chips (I use milk chocolate)

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease one 9x13 inch pan.
In a large mixing bowl combine the oats, flour, baking soda, vanilla, butter or margarine, honey and brown sugar. Stir in the 2 cups assorted chocolate chips, raisins, nuts etc.
Lightly press mixture into the prepared pan. Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes then cut into bars. Let bars cool completely in pan before removing or serving.
(I use a rolling pin to press into a pan very good, and I like to eat them warm)

I am blogging with one hand now so hope you can all understand. here is a link to what they did to my shoulder except they also chipped away a bone spur. ok so it wont post you can look at it on you tube.

Wow 17 years!!

It is hard to believe that Jeff and I have been married 17 years as of yesterday August 30th, 2008.
For our anniversary we went to Park City for the night, although we enjoyed a great time and mostly relaxed (that was great) we only got a few pitchers of the cars at the Mustang show on Park City Main Street. I guess after 17 years we know what each other looks like and figure the cars would be of more interest to our 3 boys. We also found Connor the perfect car for his 16th birthday.

Fun in Chicago!

The good and the bad!
My work is great I get to adventure out to some places that I would not get to see, but the bad is I have to leave my family and even though this was a short 2 day 1 night trip, I still missed them.
Last Wednesday I went to Chicago, what a fun town, they loved us so much they even did a full out firework show for us. We rode one of the countries largest Farris wheels. I do have to say the view from my room was the best, I left my room that morning with a great sunrise. I had fun with my coworkers, and met a Research Coordinator from LA. We all had fun and even with getting lost on the way to the navy Pier we had a blast. Oh and we did attend all meetings!
